Debit Mastercard
The Interactive Brokers Debit Mastercard® lets you borrow against your account to spend anywhere Mastercard® is accepted around the world. Use the Debit Card screen to:
- Apply for the card - initial screen (Apply Now button) sign agreement, review cardholder info
- Manage your card(s) - including active primary card and possible secondary cards, Active Card Details pop-up (view card details, link to transaction history), secondary cards not activated yet pop-up (activation instructions)
- Report your card lost or stolen
- Cancel your card
- Request an additional card
- Make large purchases with your Card
Active cards appear in full color. Pending cards (cards that have not been activated yet) appear in gray with the activation code. Canceled cards appear in gray with a circle with a line through it.
- Click Transfer & Pay > Debit Card.
- Click Enroll Now.
- Read the Cardholder Agreement, type your signature in the field provided, and click CONTINUE.
- Review your cardholder information and click Continue.
- Record your card activation instructions and save it in a secure place. You will need this information to activate your Debit Mastercard when it arrives in the mail in 7-10 business days.
- Click Transfer & Pay > Debit Card.
- Click the full-color picture of your active card. If you have more than one active card (for example, you have a secondary or supplemental card), click the card you want to manage.
- In the pop-up window:
- View your card details in the pop-up, including your cardholder information and available balance.
- Under Card Actions, report the card lost or stolen, or cancel your card.
- Click Continue or click the X in the upper right corner to close the pop-up.
- View your Debit Mastercard transactions on the Transfer & Pay > Transaction History screen.
- Click a pending card on the Debit Card screen to view the activation instructions for that card.

Call us immediately at 866-532-4654. A replacement card will be mailed to your address on file immediately.
- You can also report your card lost or stolen from within Client Portal:
- Click Transfer & Pay > Debit Card.
- Click the full-color picture of your active card. If you have more than one active card (for example, you have a secondary or supplemental card), click the card you want to manage.
- In the pop-up, click Report this Card as Lost or Stolen in the Card Actions section.
- Select an option from the drop-down.
- Your card will be deactivated and a replacement card will be mailed to your address on file immediately.
- Click Continue.
Click Transfer & Pay > Debit Card.
In order to make purchases for large amounts (over $1,000) with your Debit Mastercard®, you must pre-authorize such purchases using IBKR Mobile Authentication (IB Key), our two-factor authentication security for iOS and Android phones. - Pre-authorizing is easy and only takes a few seconds in the IBKR Mobile app and helps you avoid having your large amount purchase declined.
- If your purchase is declined, you can authorize the purchase in IBKR Mobile Authentication (IB Key) and then ask the merchant to put the charge through again.
